Leadership Lessons - Racing to Bermuda
I have often said that I learned everything I know about leadership on my sailboat.
When you are reading this, I will probably be racing my J 130 sailboat, CHARIAD, from Newport, RI, to Bermuda. We started June 21. We are challenging the Atlantic Ocean winds and the Gulf Stream currents, racing 170 other boats 636 miles to Bermuda.
Sleep and refreshments like a Dark and Stormy will be our priorities when we get to Bermuda. Eventually, we will engage with charm of Bermuda and its pink coral beaches.
CEOWorld just published my latest article drawing leadership lessons from my sailboat racing. Check out the article HERE. I talk about what is required to successfully race a sailboat and the lessons I draw from these experiences for the challenges we face every day.
You can follow us racing across the Atlantic to Bermuda on the race committee website HERE.

In New England, preparing your boat for launching back into the water is a spring ritual. This sailboat is on the beach at Vineyard Haven on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
