Peace & Joy
A Time to Pause
Christmas is a special time of year for me, and I hope for you.
Yes, it is a hectic time in many ways. Shopping and travel are part of the season. Kids home from school, family time, Christmas decorations, and a Christmas tree. When I was growing up, I knew when my mother had come to her “I am finished” moment. After all her preparations were complete, she would hang a large red bow over the mirror in the dining room. Her moment of Christmas peace had arrived.
With these occasional notes, I reach out to you through our professional relationship. Christmas is when I can extend my personal best wishes to you and your family. I hope you will have times of peace and joy with those you love.
With memories of snow on the trees and a clear starlit night, these lyrics by Phillips Brooks come to mind.
O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above the deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight.
